Safely Cleaning Your Mattress
Safely Cleaning Your Mattress

Our mattresses are special and we do spend a large chunk of our lives on them, we don’t just sleep on them, we relax on them, we daydream on them, we recover from illnesses and injuries on them and we spend our lazy days on them. We end horrible days, safe on them and we begin our best days on them. Our beds have been with us through our journeys. And sometimes we might neglect them, which means that they will start to neglect us. Just as with anything else in life, our mattresses need to get cleaned from time to time.

Why Should We Clean Our Mattresses?

Everything in our lives will need to get cleaned at some point or another. Even though we might not be able to see the dirt on our mattresses, it doesn’t mean that they do not need to get cleaned. Our mattresses live life with us, and they experience so many things, like children growing up, heatwaves, cold fronts, tears, and some even have pets. There are some unwanted and unsightly things that happen to a mattress or that stay within it.

Cleaning Your Mattress

You could quickly clean off a few things off your mattress by running the vacuum over it while all the linen is off. Do not underestimate the power of letting your mattress breathe some air and if it is possible, let it bathe in some natural sunlight. Sprinkle some baking soda over your mattress and let it sit for a few hours, and then thoroughly vacuum it all up. For stains and such, take a spray bottle; mix in some baking soda, some hydrogen peroxide, and some liquid soap. Spray the mattress and the stains, and rub it or dab it dry and clean with a clean cloth. It is important to not vacuum the mattress as it could damage it.
